Hinjewadi Welcomes Its First Community Durga Puja in 2026

The name Oitijhyo, meaning heritage, reflects the association’s broader vision of preserving cultural traditions while adapting them for future generations. The celebration is intended to provide Bengali families with a connection to their cultural roots while welcoming residents from all communities.

Hinjewadi’s Transformation into a Growing Residential Community

Hinjewadi has undergone a significant transformation since the development of Rajiv Gandhi Infotech Park in the 1990s. Once primarily associated with technology companies and office campuses, the area has evolved into a rapidly expanding residential and social hub.

Residential societies, schools, shopping centres, restaurants, cafés and community spaces now form an important part of everyday life in Hinjewadi. Families are raising children in the area, professionals are purchasing homes, and residents from different regions and cultural backgrounds are increasingly sharing the same neighbourhood.

Durga Puja brings together several elements of Bengali cultural life, including worship, music, art, food, craftsmanship and community participation.

For Bengali families living away from West Bengal, the festival can offer a strong emotional connection to home.
